Neuron looking for connection:
Neurons seek connections with each other through a process called synaptogenesis.
This involves the growth of special structures called dendrites and axons, allowing neurons to reach and make contact with neighboring neurons.
When in contact, neurons release neurotransmitters—chemicals that can stimulate or inhibit the activity of the receiving neuron—facilitating communication.
Through repeated activation, connections between neurons can be strengthened, while unused ones can be weakened or eliminated (Synaptic pruning). This dynamic process is the basis of the brain's ability to learn and remember.
