Position: Petroleum Geologist

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Petroleum Geologist to join our team and contribute to the exploration and development of oil and gas resources. As a Petroleum Geologist, you will play a critical role in identifying potential drilling locations and assessing the quality and quantity of hydrocarbon reserves. You will work closely with other geoscientists, engineers, and land professionals to evaluate geological data and make informed decisions on exploration and production activities. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing industry and make a meaningful impact on the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of geological data, including well logs, seismic data, and core samples, to evaluate the potential for oil and gas reserves
• Create and interpret geological maps, cross-sections, and other visual aids to identify potential drilling locations
• Utilize advanced software and modeling tools to analyze data and make accurate predictions of reservoir characteristics and hydrocarbon potential
• Collaborate with engineering and land teams to design and implement drilling plans and evaluate well performance
• Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and optimize exploration and production activities
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and management in a clear and concise manner
• Participate in field trips to collect data and conduct site visits to monitor drilling and production operations
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance and support as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in petroleum geology, with a focus on exploration and production
• Extensive knowledge of geological principles and concepts, as well as experience with various geological software and modeling tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel and work in remote locations, as needed
