Job Overview: As a Grocery Store Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our store. You will be responsible for ensuring that our shelves are fully stocked, products are properly displayed, and customers are provided with exceptional service. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide them with a positive and memorable shopping experience
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment by restocking shelves, rotating products, and tidying up displays
• Receive and unload merchandise from delivery trucks and ensure that products are stored in designated areas
• Assist customers in finding products and provide them with information on pricing, product features, and promotions
• Operate cash registers and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately
• Ensure that all products are properly labeled with prices and expiration dates
• Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies to the store manager
• Assist in setting up displays and promotional signage to attract customers
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies to maintain a healthy and safe working environment
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and provide support in other areas of the store when needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience in a retail or customer service role preferred
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is an asset
