Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Correctional Officer to join our team. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of inmates within our correctional facility. You will be responsible for enforcing rules and regulations, supervising inmate activities, and ensuring the overall well-being of inmates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor inmate behavior and activities to ensure compliance with rules and regulations
• Conduct regular security checks and searches of inmates, cells, and common areas
• Escort and supervise inmates during daily activities such as meals, recreation, and work assignments
• Respond to emergencies and maintain order in situations such as fights, riots, and medical emergencies
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records of inmate activities
• Conduct cell searches and confiscate contraband items
• Communicate with inmates to address concerns and resolve conflicts
• Collaborate with other correctional staff to maintain a safe and secure environment
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in criminal justice or related field preferred
• Previous experience in law enforcement, security, or corrections preferred
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and handle confrontations with inmates in a professional manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from superiors
• Physical fitness and ability to pass physical and psychological evaluations
• Knowledge of correctional procedures and techniques
• Must pass a background check and drug screening

Working Conditions: The work schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Correctional Officers must be able to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
