Salary: USD: $80,000 - $130,000 per year

About the Position: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students in their academic journey. Your primary responsibility will be to provide academic advising and assistance to students to ensure their academic success and timely graduation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with students on a regular basis to provide academic advising and guidance
• Assist students in creating academic plans and selecting appropriate courses that align with their interests and career goals
• Provide information about academic programs, course requirements, and graduation requirements
• Monitor students' academic progress and identify potential issues or challenges that may hinder their success
• Refer students to appropriate resources and support services, such as tutoring, career services, and counseling, as needed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and academic plans
• Collaborate with faculty and other academic advisors to develop and implement academic support programs for students
• Participate in orientation sessions and other events to introduce new students to academic policies and procedures
• Stay current with school policies, curriculum changes, and academic regulations to provide accurate and relevant information to students
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of transfer credits from other institutions
• Contribute to the development of academic advising policies and procedures and recommend improvements as needed
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in academic advising and student support services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in academic advising or counseling in a higher education setting
• Strong understanding of academic policies and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with a diverse student population and provide culturally sensitive advising
• Proficient in using student information systems and other relevant technology
• Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of career development and counseling techniques is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
