About the Company: As a member of the fishing crew, your role involves assisting the captain in safely and efficiently operating the fishing vessel. This includes setting up and maintaining fishing equipment like nets, lines, and traps. You'll be responsible for identifying and sorting catch by species and size, as well as cleaning, gutting, and filleting fish. Operating machinery such as winches, cranes, and pumps is also part of your duties. Additionally, you'll perform routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel and equipment to ensure smooth operations at sea.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the captain in operating the fishing vessel safely and efficiently
• Setting up and maintaining fishing equipment, including nets, lines, and traps
• Identifying and sorting catch according to species and size
• Cleaning, gutting, and filleting fish
• Operating machinery such as winches, cranes, and pumps
• Performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel and equipment
• Monitoring weather and ocean conditions and following safety protocols
• Communicating effectively with other crew members and the captain
• Keeping accurate records of catch and expenses
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
• Ensuring compliance with all fishing regulations and laws
• Assisting in loading and unloading of catch at the dock
• Participating in training programs and workshops to improve skills and stay updated on industry developments

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in fishing or boating preferred
• Knowledge of different fish species and their habitats
• Ability to work long hours at sea in varying weather conditions
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
• Valid driver's license and transportation to the dock
• Must pass a drug test and background check
