Job Title: Timber Harvesting Supervisor

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Timber Harvesting Supervisor to join our team. As a Timber Harvesting Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of timber harvesting operations, ensuring that daily targets are met and safety protocols are followed. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and coordinate daily timber harvesting activities, including logging, cutting, skidding, and loading operations.
• Monitor and review production levels, ensuring that targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Supervise and provide guidance to a team of logging equipment operators, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for current team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during timber harvesting operations.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Stay updated on industry developments and implement best practices to improve efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in timber harvesting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of logging equipment and techniques.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
