About the Role: As the Ranch Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our ranch. You will be responsible for managing our team, maintaining the ranch's infrastructure, and ensuring the efficient production of our products. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of ranching, and a passion for agriculture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the ranch's operations, including animal care, pasture management, and ranch maintenance
- Develop and maintain a budget to ensure the ranch's financial success
- Manage a team of ranch hands, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team's productivity and well-being
- Implement and maintain ranching best practices to ensure the highest standards of animal welfare and product quality
- Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of the animals, including scheduling vaccinations, treatments, and feeding regimes
- Ensure the proper maintenance and repair of ranch equipment and infrastructure, including fencing, buildings, and water systems
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the ranch
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and technologies to continuously improve ranch operations and efficiency
- Prepare reports and provide regular updates to senior management on the ranch's performance, challenges, and opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a ranch management role
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, pasture management, and ranching best practices
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, and reporting
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders
- Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and the ability to operate ranch equipment
