Job Description: Culture Haven Stores is seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Bookstore Clerk to join our team. As a Bookstore Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our bookstore. Your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent customer service and assist customers in finding and purchasing books and other merchandise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, and assist them in finding the books or merchandise they are looking for.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations to customers based on their interests, and upsell related products or services.
• Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves, arranging displays, and dusting.
• Receive and process incoming shipments of books and merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper storage.
• Collaborate with the store manager to plan and execute promotions, events, and book signings.
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep up-to-date with new releases, bestsellers, and industry trends to provide informed recommendations to customers.
• Assist with online orders and shipping, as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in literature, retail, or customer service is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or customer service role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first attitude.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
• Knowledge of book genres and authors is preferred.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
