You will work closely with students to provide academic advising, career counseling, and support services to enhance their overall college experience.

Your responsibilities as a Student Success Advisor will include:

• Conducting one-on-one advising sessions with students to discuss their academic progress, goals, and challenges.
• Assisting students in developing academic plans and selecting appropriate courses based on their interests, strengths, and career aspirations.
• Providing resources and support to students who are struggling academically, including referrals to tutoring services and study skills workshops.
• Collaborating with faculty and staff to identify students who may need additional support and developing strategies to help them succeed.
• Organizing and facilitating workshops and events that promote student success, such as time management, study skills, and career exploration.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential records of student meetings, progress, and interventions.
• Staying up-to-date on college policies, procedures, and programs to ensure accurate and timely guidance to students.
• Participating in the development and implementation of retention initiatives to improve student success and retention rates.
• Building relationships and partnerships with other departments and community resources to provide comprehensive support services to students.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of student success programs and services through data analysis and feedback from students and colleagues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Previous experience in academic advising, student services, or counseling is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of student development theory and counseling techniques.
• Familiarity with higher education policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
