Position: Water Distribution Operator

Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Distribution Operator to join our team. As a Water Distribution Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water distribution system. This is a critical role within our organization as you will be responsible for providing clean and safe drinking water to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain the water distribution system, including pumps, valves, and other equipment
• Monitor and adjust water flow and pressure to meet demand and maintain system efficiency
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Identify and troubleshoot system issues and make necessary repairs
• Collect water samples and perform quality testing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Record and maintain accurate records of water usage, system operations, and maintenance activities
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding water quality and service disruptions
• Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
• Comply with all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Stay up to date with industry developments and regulations related to water distribution operations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in water distribution operations
• Valid Water Distribution Operator certification
• Strong knowledge of water distribution systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
• Proficient in using computer programs for data entry and record-keeping
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions
