Our company is seeking a talented Deck Officer to join our dynamic team and take on a key role in our organization.As a Deck Officer, you will play a crucial role in the safe operation and navigation of our vessels. You will be responsible for the overall management of the deck department, ensuring the efficient and safe loading, discharging, and stowage of cargo, as well as the safety of the crew and the vessel. Your excellent leadership skills, strong attention to detail, and extensive knowledge of maritime rules and regulations will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the deck department, including deckhands, bosuns, and able seamen, to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the vessel.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
• Plan and execute the loading, discharging, and stowage of cargo, in accordance with the vessel's stability and trim requirements.
• Monitor the vessel's position, speed, and direction using navigational equipment, and make necessary adjustments to maintain the vessel's course and speed.
• Conduct regular safety drills and trainings for the crew to ensure their readiness in case of emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records of all cargo operations, navigational activities, and safety drills.
• Conduct regular inspections of the vessel's deck and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Captain on the vessel's condition, cargo operations, and any incidents that may occur.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable international and local maritime laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Deck Officer on a commercial vessel.
• Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science or Marine Transportation preferred.
• Valid Deck Officer's license and all relevant STCW certifications.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse team.
• In-depth knowledge of maritime rules and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
• Proficient in the use of navigational and communication equipment.
• Willingness to work at sea for extended periods.
