Job Title: Fine Art Curator

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Fine Art Curator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and curating our collection of fine art, ensuring its preservation and showcasing it to the public. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and appreciation for various forms of art, excellent organizational and research skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curate and manage our collection of fine art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, and other forms of art.
• Develop and maintain relationships with artists, collectors, and other art institutions to acquire new pieces for the collection.
• Conduct thorough research on the history and significance of each artwork in the collection.
• Create and implement a strategic plan for displaying and promoting the collection to the public.
• Collaborate with other team members to design and execute exhibitions and events showcasing the collection.
• Ensure the preservation and conservation of the artworks through proper handling, storage, and maintenance.
• Develop educational programs and materials to engage the public and enhance their understanding of the collection.
• Manage and maintain accurate records of the collection, including provenance, condition reports, and documentation.
• Stay updated on trends and developments in the art world and make recommendations for new acquisitions or exhibitions.
• Oversee the budget for the collection and ensure all expenses are within budget constraints.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art History, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Fine Art Curator, preferably in a museum or gallery setting.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of art history, different art movements, and techniques.
• Excellent research skills and ability to interpret and analyze information related to artworks.
• Proven experience in curating exhibitions and managing art collections.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle delicate and valuable artworks with care.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in using art database software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Passion for art and a desire to share it with the public.
