Job Title: Building Materials Purchasing Manager

About the Position: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Building Materials Purchasing Manager to join our team. As the Building Materials Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the purchasing process for building materials. Your role will be to ensure that the company has the necessary materials to complete projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and pricing for building materials
• Monitor inventory levels and track market trends to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing decisions
• Collaborate with project managers to understand materials requirements and develop accurate purchasing plans
• Conduct regular analysis of purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce expenses
• Oversee the purchasing team and provide guidance on best practices for negotiating and purchasing building materials
• Evaluate and approve purchase orders, invoices, and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Maintain accurate records of all purchases, pricing, and contracts for auditing and reporting purposes
• Stay updated on industry developments and trends to make informed decisions and recommendations for improving the purchasing process
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues or delays with suppliers
• Develop and implement strategies for risk management and contingency planning to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the construction or building materials industry
• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with suppliers
