Position: DB Admin

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled DB Admin to join our dynamic and growing team. The DB Admin will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's databases, ensuring they are running efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement. This is a crucial role within our organization, as our databases are the backbone of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor all company databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Develop and implement database security protocols to protect sensitive information.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any database issues in a timely manner.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain new databases.
• Continuously analyze database processes and make recommendations for improvement.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in database technology.
• Train and mentor junior database administrators.
• Create and maintain technical documentation related to database systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database management.
• Proven experience with database design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of database security and backup procedures.
• Proficient in SQL and other database management tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications in database management (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with Agile methodology.
