Job Title: Forest Resource Management Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Forest Resource Management Specialist to join our team. As a Forest Resource Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of forest resources, including planning, implementation, and monitoring of sustainable forest management practices. You will work closely with forestry professionals, landowners, and government agencies to ensure the proper management of forest resources and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry and natural resource management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for sustainable forest management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement forest management plans and strategies to achieve sustainable management of forest resources
• Conduct field surveys and assessments to determine forest health, species composition, and timber inventory
• Analyze data and make recommendations for forest management practices, such as harvesting, reforestation, and silviculture
• Work with landowners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with forest management regulations and policies
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to landowners on forest management practices and programs
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of forest management practices and make adjustments as needed
• Collaborate with other forestry professionals and researchers to stay updated on current trends and techniques in forest resource management
• Participate in public outreach and education programs to promote sustainable forest management practices and raise awareness of the importance of forest resources
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate forest management plans and results to various stakeholders
• Keep detailed records of forest management activities and maintain accurate data for reporting and analysis purposes
• Stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations related to forest management and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in forestry, natural resource management, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in forest resource management or related field
• Thorough understanding of forestry practices, including harvesting, reforestation, and silviculture
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to forest management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in computer programs and software related to forestry and natural resource management
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to various sites as needed
