Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement waste management policies and procedures in compliance with environmental regulations
Collaborate with various departments to identify and analyze waste streams, and recommend solutions for reducing waste and increasing recycling efforts
Monitor waste disposal operations and ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
Maintain accurate records and reports of waste activities, including tracking and documenting waste shipments
Conduct regular audits of waste storage areas and work with facilities to ensure proper labeling and containment of waste materials
Train and educate employees on proper waste management practices and procedures
Keep up-to-date with changes in environmental regulations and ensure company compliance
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in waste management processes
Network and maintain relationships with waste management vendors and contractors
Investigate and address any waste-related incidents or violations in a timely and effective manner

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in waste management, preferably in a supervisory or coordinator role
Strong understanding of environmental regulations related to waste management
Knowledge of hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal practices
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and waste management software
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Certification in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) preferred
