Key Responsibilities:

Safely navigate the vessel in all types of weather and sea conditions
Ensure compliance with all maritime laws and regulations
Manage and supervise all crew members, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed
Conduct regular safety drills and trainings for crew members
Monitor and maintain all vessel systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning
Create and implement voyage plans, taking into account weather conditions, cargo, and vessel capabilities
Communicate with shore personnel, port authorities, and other vessels as needed
Keep accurate records of vessel operations, including voyage logs, maintenance records, and crew schedules
Manage the budget and expenses related to vessel operations
Ensure compliance with environmental protection regulations
Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain cleanliness and organization of the vessel
Act as a leader and mentor to crew members, promoting a positive and productive work environment
Identify and address any issues or concerns that may arise during the voyage

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Captain or similar role
Valid Captain's license and all required certifications
Strong knowledge of maritime laws and regulations
Excellent navigation and decision-making skills
Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work well under pressure and in potentially dangerous situations
Physically fit and able to work long hours and be away from home for extended periods of time
Experience with vessel maintenance and repair is preferred
Familiarity with electronic navigation and communication systems
Willingness to undergo random drug and alcohol testing as required by maritime regulations
