Job Title: Academic Advisor

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play an essential role in guiding and supporting students through their academic journey. You will work closely with students, faculty, and staff to provide comprehensive academic advising services and assist students in achieving their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies and procedures
• Assist students in developing individualized academic plans to meet their academic goals
• Monitor students' academic progress and identify potential areas of concern, providing appropriate interventions and referrals as needed
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and maintain academic programs, policies, and curriculum
• Conduct group advising sessions and workshops to educate students on academic resources and opportunities
• Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new students, providing them with information and guidance on academic programs and campus resources
• Serve as a liaison between students and faculty, facilitating communication and addressing any concerns or conflicts
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student advising sessions and academic progress
• Keep abreast of changes in academic programs, policies, and procedures and communicate them to students and faculty
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance advising skills and stay current in the field of academic advising

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in academic advising or a related field
• Knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and curriculum
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Passion for helping students achieve their academic goals
