Job Description: American Society of Civil Engineers is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for our products and services. We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual with a strong technical background and exceptional writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, and proofread technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, release notes, and help files.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and product managers to gather information and ensure accuracy of content.
• Translate complex technical information into clear and concise content that is easy to understand for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create and maintain templates and style guides to ensure consistency in documentation.
• Conduct research and gather information from various sources to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation.
• Keep documentation up-to-date with product changes and enhancements.
• Continuously improve documentation processes and standards to enhance the overall user experience.
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and incorporate suggestions for improvement.
• Participate in product testing and provide feedback to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer.
• Strong writing and editing skills with excellent command of grammar and punctuation.
• Experience in technical writing for software products or IT services.
• Knowledge of technical writing tools and software, such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or RoboHelp.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and XML.
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
