Key Responsibilities:

Conduct individual and group advising sessions with students to assess their academic progress and identify potential challenges or opportunities for growth.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the university's academic programs, policies, and procedures to effectively advise students.
Assist students in developing personalized academic plans that align with their interests, strengths, and career aspirations.
Monitor students' academic progress and provide intervention or support as needed to help them stay on track towards graduation.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure that students receive the necessary support services to excel academically.
Plan and facilitate workshops, seminars, and other events to educate students on academic success strategies, study skills, and other relevant topics.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student advising sessions, academic plans, and other relevant information.
Participate in university recruitment activities, including open houses and orientation events, to provide information and guidance to prospective students.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in academic advising and incorporate them into daily work to enhance the student experience.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
Understanding of higher education policies and procedures.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with student information systems and advising software.
Passion for helping students succeed academically and professionally.
