Job Title: Livestock Supervisor

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Livestock Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our livestock farm. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of livestock workers, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals, and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency on the farm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of livestock workers, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure the highest level of animal care and welfare.
• Monitor and maintain the health of the livestock, including administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as necessary.
• Ensure proper feeding and nutrition of the animals, as well as maintaining clean and sanitary living conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of animal health, production, and inventory.
• Oversee breeding and birthing processes, as well as the selection and culling of animals.
• Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities, identifying and addressing any maintenance or repair needs.
• Collaborate with farm managers to develop and implement production plans and strategies.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, and implement new techniques as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in livestock management, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and husbandry practices.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team, as well as delegate tasks and provide constructive feedback.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
