About the Role: As a Freight Car Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of freight cars from start to finish. You will lead a team of production workers and ensure that all processes are carried out efficiently and according to company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and production management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands and deadlines
• Manage and coordinate the activities of production workers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Monitor production processes to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and procurement, to ensure smooth production flow
• Analyze production data and identify areas for improvement to increase productivity and reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations in the production facility
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
• Create and maintain production schedules and adjust as needed to meet changing demands
• Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure all products meet company standards
• Develop and manage budgets for production projects and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Communicate with upper management to provide progress reports and address any issues or concerns

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
• 5 years of experience in production management, preferably in the transportation industry
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale production projects
• Sound knowledge of production processes, equipment, and materials
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in MS Office and production management software
