Job Title: Supermarket Cashier

Job Description: We are seeking a friendly and efficient Supermarket Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at the checkout counter. You will also be responsible for handling cash, credit, and debit card payments, maintaining accurate records, and keeping the front end of the store clean and organized.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a warm and welcoming manner as they approach the checkout counter
• Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
• Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions using a POS system
• Handle returns and exchanges in a timely and professional manner
• Verify and reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cleaning the conveyor belt and counters
• Assist customers with any inquiries or concerns, and escalate to management when necessary
• Keep up-to-date with product knowledge, promotions, and store policies
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth customer flow and minimize wait times
• Follow all safety and security procedures to prevent theft and accidents
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including dress code and attendance requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven work experience as a cashier or in a similar role
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable personality
• Strong math and computer skills
• Ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
