Position: Ground Transportation Supervisor

Overview: Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ground Transportation Supervisor to join our team. As a Ground Transportation Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our ground transportation department. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of ground transportation staff, including drivers and dispatchers
• Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards
• Monitor and track the performance of transportation operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Oversee the maintenance and repairs of company vehicles, ensuring they are in safe and working condition at all times
• Schedule and coordinate transportation assignments, taking into consideration factors such as route, weather conditions, and driver availability
• Conduct regular safety meetings and provide training to drivers on safe driving practices and company policies
• Monitor driver logs and ensure compliance with regulations related to hours of service, vehicle inspections, and maintenance records
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely delivery of goods and materials to meet production schedules
• Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including fuel usage, vehicle maintenance, and driver performance
• Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising safety and quality standards
• Resolve any transportation-related issues or delays in a timely and efficient manner

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with other departments
• Proficiency in using transportation management software and GPS tracking systems
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
