Location: Reno, Nevada, United States

About the Role: Policy Makers Organization is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Big Data Developer to join our dynamic team. The Big Data Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our big data infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, data engineering, and big data technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable and efficient big data applications and systems using the latest technologies
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Design and implement data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our big data platform
• Write complex SQL and NoSQL queries to perform data analysis and data manipulation
• Optimize and tune performance of big data applications and systems
• Develop and maintain data models and data dictionaries
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in big data technologies and make recommendations for improvement
• Mentor and guide junior developers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development and data engineering
• Strong experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, etc.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Team player with a positive attitude
