About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wood Procurement Manager to join our team. As the Wood Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of wood products for our company. This is a key role that requires a strong understanding of the wood industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of wood products
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and terms of agreements, and maintain relationships with key suppliers
- Monitor market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions and mitigate risks
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand wood product requirements and ensure timely delivery
- Manage inventory levels and logistics to ensure optimal stock levels and timely delivery to production sites
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and implement improvements as needed
- Develop and maintain a strong network of suppliers and industry contacts
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Manage a team of procurement professionals and provide leadership and direction
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, budget, and performance to senior management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wood procurement, preferably in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of the wood industry, including market trends, pricing, and regulations
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software
