Job Overview: As a Broadcast Journalist, you will play a vital role in our newsroom by researching, writing, and reporting on various news stories for broadcast. You will be responsible for gathering information from various sources, conducting interviews, and delivering news reports that are engaging, accurate, and relevant to our audience. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with other members of our team to develop compelling story ideas and contribute to the overall success of our news programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and research local, national, and international news to identify potential story ideas
• Conduct interviews with individuals, experts, and officials to gather information for news stories
• Write, edit, and proofread news scripts for broadcast
• Collaborate with news producers, editors, and other team members to develop and refine news stories
• Use various technologies to gather, edit, and deliver news content for broadcast
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards of journalism while reporting and delivering news
• Stay up-to-date with current events, news trends, and industry developments
• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute ideas for news coverage
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with sources, colleagues, and the general public
• Adhere to strict deadlines and work well under pressure to deliver news reports on time
• Maintain a professional and polished appearance when appearing on camera or conducting interviews
• Collaborate with videographers, photographers, and other team members to enhance the visual elements of news stories
• Contribute to the company's social media presence by promoting news stories and engaging with our audience

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in broadcast journalism
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Strong on-camera presence and ability to deliver news reports with confidence and professionalism
• Experience conducting interviews and gathering information from various sources
• Knowledge of journalistic ethics and standards
• Familiarity with industry-standard technologies and software used in broadcast journalism
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• Strong multitasking and time-management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Passion for news and current events
