We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in assisting students in achieving their academic goals and providing them with the necessary support and guidance throughout their academic journey. You will be responsible for providing academic advising services to a diverse student population, ensuring that they have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising services to students, including course selection, degree planning, and academic progress monitoring.
• Build and maintain relationships with students to understand their academic goals and develop personalized academic plans.
• Assist students in navigating the university's academic policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address student academic concerns and provide appropriate referrals.
• Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and other events to support students' academic success.
• Utilize academic advising tools and resources to track and monitor students' academic progress.
• Keep up-to-date with program requirements, course offerings, and university policies to provide accurate and relevant information to students.
• Assist in the development and implementation of academic advising policies and procedures.
• Participate in recruitment and orientation events to provide academic advising support to prospective and new students.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
• Knowledge of academic advising principles, practices, and resources.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in using technology and various academic advising tools.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Understanding of diverse student populations and their academic needs.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
