Key Responsibilities:

• Sort and organize mail and packages according to designated routes and delivery schedules.
• Load and unload mail and packages from delivery vehicles and transport them to designated addresses by foot, vehicle, or bicycle.
• Maintain accurate records of mail and packages delivered and collect payments for services such as registered mail, insured parcels, and postage due.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering customer inquiries and resolving delivery issues.
• Follow all safety and security protocols to protect mail and packages from theft or damage.
• Operate and maintain delivery vehicles, including regular maintenance checks and reporting any issues to the appropriate authorities.
• Adhere to all USPS regulations and policies, including those related to delivery times, route sequencing, and mail handling.
• Continuously monitor and update delivery routes to ensure the most efficient and timely delivery of mail and packages.
• Collaborate with other mail carriers and postal workers to ensure the successful completion of daily delivery routes.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the USPS and delivering mail and packages to customers.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy packages and walk long distances.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with USPS regulations, policies, and procedures is preferred.
• Previous experience in mail delivery or a similar role is a plus.

Working Conditions: The Postal Service Mail Carrier works primarily outdoors, delivering mail and packages in all weather conditions. The job may also require frequent bending, lifting, and carrying of heavy items. The work schedule may include weekends and holidays, and occasional overtime may be required.
