Job Overview: The Bookstore Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bookstore, including managing staff, inventory, and customer service. This individual will play a vital role in maintaining our bookstore's reputation as a go-to destination for book lovers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, a passion for books, and exceptional leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective strategies to increase bookstore sales and profitability.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of booksellers to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Oversee all aspects of inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and reordering.
• Create and maintain visual displays to showcase new releases, bestsellers, and themed collections.
• Develop and maintain relationships with publishers and distributors to ensure timely and cost-effective book orders.
• Monitor and analyze sales reports to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
• Plan and execute special events and promotions to attract customers and increase sales.
• Ensure the bookstore is well-maintained, clean, and organized at all times.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new releases, and customer preferences.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail management, preferably in a bookstore or other specialty retail environment.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and increasing profitability.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for books and knowledge of the publishing industry.
• Proficient in inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
