Position: Public Affairs Strategist

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Affairs Strategist to join our dynamic team. As a Public Affairs Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans and initiatives to enhance our company's reputation and promote our public image. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address public affairs issues, manage media relations, and drive advocacy efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of public affairs, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs strategies to support the company's goals and objectives
• Monitor and analyze public affairs trends, legislation, and policies that could impact the company and its stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify potential public affairs risks and develop proactive communication plans to mitigate them
• Build and maintain positive relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure positive coverage and manage crisis communications
• Plan and execute events and initiatives to engage with the public and promote the company's brand
• Provide guidance and support to senior leadership on public affairs issues and opportunities
• Monitor and manage the company's social media presence and respond to online conversations and comments
• Develop and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials
• Track and report on the effectiveness of public affairs strategies and make recommendations for improvement

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public affairs, media relations, or related field
• Strong understanding of public affairs principles and best practices
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans and initiatives
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with social media platforms and their use in public affairs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in crisis communications and issues management is a plus
