Position: Harvesting Supervisor

Job Description: We are currently seeking a self-motivated and experienced Harvesting Supervisor to join our team. As the Harvesting Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the harvesting process, from planning and organizing to overseeing the actual harvesting operations. Your main goal will be to ensure that all harvesting activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize harvesting operations, taking into consideration factors such as weather conditions, equipment availability, and production targets
• Supervise and monitor the harvesting crew, ensuring that all tasks are carried out according to established procedures and safety regulations
• Train and mentor new employees, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition and report any issues to the appropriate department for repairs or replacements
• Maintain accurate records of harvesting activities, including yields, equipment usage, and labor costs
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of harvesting supplies and materials, placing orders as needed
• Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and quality control, to coordinate the timely and efficient transfer of harvested products to the processing facilities
• Ensure that all safety procedures and protocols are followed by the harvesting crew, and take immediate action to address any safety concerns or incidents
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures, and ensure that all employees are aware of and comply with them
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve harvesting processes and procedures, and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity
• Communicate regularly with upper management, providing updates on harvesting operations, challenges, and achievements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role in a harvesting or agricultural setting
• Strong understanding of harvesting operations and equipment, as well as safety protocols
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve goals and objectives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Proficient in using computer programs, such as Microsoft Office, for record-keeping and reporting purposes
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends, as needed, to ensure the timely completion of harvesting activities
