Position: Track Maintenance Worker

Overview: As a Track Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of railroad tracks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of trains. This position requires a strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular track inspections to identify any issues or potential hazards
• Repair and replace damaged track components, such as rails, ties, and switches
• Use specialized equipment, such as track jacks and tampers, to maintain proper track alignment and level
• Operate heavy machinery, such as track maintenance vehicles and cranes, to perform maintenance tasks
• Install and maintain signals, switches, and other track-related equipment
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues to the supervisor
• Respond to emergency situations, such as derailments or severe weather conditions, to ensure the safe and timely operation of trains
• Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while on the job
• Collaborate with other track maintenance workers and supervisors to plan and execute maintenance projects
• Keep work areas clean and organized to promote a safe and efficient work environment

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in track maintenance or a related field is preferred
• Knowledge of railroad operations and safety regulations is a plus
• Strong mechanical and technical skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call for emergencies
