Job Title: Construction Estimator

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of construction projects, from initial planning to final completion. The Construction Estimator will work closely with our project managers, architects, and subcontractors to determine project scope, budget, and timelines. This is a critical role within our company and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough analysis of project plans and specifications to determine project scope, materials, and labor costs
• Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate project budgets and timelines
• Obtain and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers
• Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for clients
• Monitor project expenses and make adjustments as needed to stay within budget
• Communicate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may affect project costs
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in construction costs to ensure accurate estimates
• Review and analyze project progress and costs to make recommendations for future projects
• Provide guidance and support to junior estimators as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in commercial construction
• Strong understanding of construction plans and specifications
• Proficient in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Knowledge of construction industry trends and changes in costs
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Professional certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is a plus
