Job Title: Family Support Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and resources to families in need. You will work closely with families to identify their needs and connect them with appropriate services and resources. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, empathy, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work directly with families to assess their needs and develop individualized support plans.
• Connect families with resources and services such as counseling, housing assistance, financial aid, and educational programs.
• Provide ongoing support and follow-up to families to ensure they are receiving the help they need.
• Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to identify and access resources for families.
• Advocate for families to ensure they have access to necessary services and support.
• Conduct home visits to assess living conditions and provide guidance on improving the home environment.
• Plan and facilitate support groups and workshops for families on topics such as parenting, financial literacy, and communication skills.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all client interactions and services provided.
• Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and collaborate on solutions.
• Stay up-to-date on community resources and services to ensure families are connected with the most appropriate and beneficial resources.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with families in a social services setting.
• Strong understanding of family dynamics and challenges faced by families.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other computer programs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).

Working Conditions:

• This is a Full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend hours.
• Work is primarily conducted in an office setting, with some home visits required.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Travel within the community is required.
