Job Overview: As a Data Storage Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data storage systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our storage infrastructure meets the needs of our clients and supports our company's growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data storage technologies and a passion for solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data storage solutions that meet the performance, capacity, and availability requirements of our clients
• Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure the successful delivery of storage projects
• Monitor and maintain the health of our storage systems, troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise
• Develop and maintain storage policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices
• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to our storage infrastructure to optimize performance and reduce costs
• Participate in capacity planning and forecasting to ensure that our storage systems can support future business needs
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data storage technologies, and make recommendations for their implementation
• Document system configurations, changes, and procedures for future reference

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data storage engineering roles
• In-depth knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, DAS, and object storage
• Strong experience with storage protocols, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS/SMB
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash
• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Solid understanding of RAID levels, file systems, and data protection techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Certifications in relevant storage technologies (e.g. EMC, NetApp, IBM) are a plus
