Position: Executive Director of Civic Engagement

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Executive Director of Civic Engagement. In this role, you will lead and oversee all aspects of our organization's civic engagement initiatives, including community outreach, advocacy, and volunteer programs. As the Executive Director, you will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with community leaders, government agencies, and other organizations to promote civic participation and social responsibility. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for community engagement, and the ability to drive results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to increase civic engagement within the community, including voter registration drives, educational workshops, and community events
• Manage and oversee all aspects of our volunteer program, including recruitment, training, and ongoing support
• Collaborate with community leaders, government officials, and other organizations to develop and implement joint initiatives that promote civic participation and social responsibility
• Oversee the planning and execution of community outreach events and initiatives, including coordinating with vendors, securing sponsorships, and managing budgets
• Serve as a spokesperson for the organization, representing our mission and values at community events and in media interviews
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, funders, and community partners, to secure funding and support for our programs
• Monitor and analyze data to track the impact and effectiveness of civic engagement initiatives and make recommendations for improvement
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of staff members and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
• Stay up-to-date on current events and policies that impact our community and use this knowledge to inform our initiatives and advocacy efforts
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure alignment and integration of civic engagement initiatives with overall organizational goals and strategies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as political science, public policy, or nonprofit management (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in civic engagement, community development, or related field
• Proven track record of successfully managing and implementing community outreach and engagement initiatives
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal government structures and processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and manage a team towards achieving goals and objectives
• Experience working with volunteers and managing volunteer programs
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Experience working with budgets and ability to manage finances effectively
• Passion for community engagement and social responsibility
• Knowledge of data analysis and reporting preferred
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed, to attend events and meetings
