Position: Cosmetics Product Development Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Cosmetics Product Development Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and launch of new cosmetic products, as well as improving existing products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, innovation, and marketability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor products.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop product concepts that align with the brand's vision and target market.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful product launches.
• Source and evaluate raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing partners to ensure the highest quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Work closely with formulation chemists to develop and test new product formulas, as well as improve existing ones.
• Conduct product stability and compatibility testing to ensure safety and efficacy.
• Develop and maintain product specifications, ingredient lists, and labeling in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate product testing with consumer panels and incorporate feedback into product development.
• Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, packaging, and regulatory, to ensure alignment and progress on projects.
• Attend trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in the cosmetics industry.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, cosmetic science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development, preferably in the cosmetics or personal care industry.
• Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulations, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for cosmetics, including FDA and EU regulations, preferred.
• Passion for the cosmetics industry and staying up-to-date on industry trends and innovations.
