Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop database systems based on business requirements and technical specifications
Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security
Implement data models, database schemas, and data dictionaries
Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions
Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database systems with other applications
Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures
Conduct regular database maintenance activities and perform upgrades as needed
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards
Stay updated with emerging database technologies and trends, and make recommendations for adoption

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in database engineering or administration
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
Experience with database design, data modeling, and performance tuning
Familiarity with database security and disaster recovery procedures
Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is a plus
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Effective communication and teamwork skills
