Job Title: Feedlot Operator

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Feedlot Operator to join our team. As a Feedlot Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our feedlot facility. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the feedlot, including feeding, watering, and maintaining the health of the animals
• Monitor feed inventories and coordinate with suppliers to ensure an adequate supply of feed for the animals
• Maintain accurate records of feedlot activities, including feed consumption, animal health, and inventory levels
• Ensure the proper care and handling of animals, following all animal welfare and safety regulations
• Operate and maintain feedlot equipment, including feed trucks, loaders, and other machinery
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations
• Work closely with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve feedlot efficiencies and productivity
• Train and supervise feedlot workers, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality work performance
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures
• Identify and report any maintenance or safety concerns to the management team
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in feedlot operations
• Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and understanding of animal welfare regulations
• Ability to operate and maintain feedlot equipment, including loaders, tractors, and feed trucks
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Basic math skills and proficiency in record-keeping
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
