Job Title: Science Outreach Coordinator

Position Overview: As a Science Outreach Coordinator, you will play a critical role in promoting and advancing scientific knowledge and education within our community. You will be responsible for developing and leading outreach programs, events, and initiatives that aim to engage and inspire individuals of all ages and backgrounds in the wonders of science. This role requires a passion for science, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement outreach programs and initiatives that align with the organization's mission and goals.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify target audiences and strategize effective outreach methods.
• Plan and execute engaging events, workshops, and activities that promote scientific learning and discovery.
• Utilize various communication channels, including social media, email, and print, to promote outreach events and programs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and other partners to expand the reach of our outreach efforts.
• Create educational materials and resources that support outreach programs and align with current curriculum standards.
• Manage outreach budget and ensure cost-effective execution of programs and events.
• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with outreach activities and events.
• Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of outreach efforts and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Stay informed on current scientific advancements and trends to incorporate into outreach programs and events.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in science outreach, education, or communication.
• Strong understanding of scientific principles and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in event planning and project management.
• Familiarity with various social media platforms and digital marketing techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for promoting scientific education and inspiring others to pursue careers in STEM fields.

Working Conditions:

• This is a Full-time position, typically working Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend events.
• The Science Outreach Coordinator will be based in our organization's office, but will also travel within the community for events and programs.
• This role may require occasional lifting and moving of event materials and equipment.
