Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Wood Product Quality Control Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Control Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all wood products manufactured by our company meet the highest standards of quality and excellence. Your primary goal will be to maintain product consistency, identify any defects or flaws, and implement corrective actions to improve overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive inspections of all wood products throughout the manufacturing process, including raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Utilize various testing methods and tools to evaluate the quality and integrity of wood products, such as moisture meters, calipers, and visual inspections.
• Create and maintain detailed quality control reports, documenting all findings and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and troubleshoot any quality issues, and develop effective solutions to address them.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with all quality control standards and procedures, ensuring that all products meet or exceed industry and company standards.
• Train and mentor other team members on quality control techniques and best practices, ensuring a consistent and high level of quality across all wood products.
• Conduct regular audits of production processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement new quality control measures.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in wood product manufacturing, and make recommendations for new technologies or processes that can enhance product quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Wood Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in wood product quality control, preferably in a manufacturing or production setting.
• In-depth knowledge of wood properties, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and troubleshoot product defects or flaws.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective solutions.
• Proficient in using quality control tools and software, such as Six Sigma, Lean, and statistical process control.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
