Position: Academic Advisor

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Academic Advisor. As an Academic Advisor, you will be responsible for providing academic guidance and support to students throughout their educational journey. You will work closely with students to ensure their academic success and help them achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a primary point of contact for students seeking academic guidance
• Conduct individual advising sessions with students to assess their academic needs and goals
• Assist students with course selection, scheduling, and registration
• Provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding academic policies, procedures, and requirements
• Monitor and track students' progress and academic standing
• Identify students who are at-risk or struggling academically and develop action plans to support their success
• Collaborate with faculty and other support services to provide comprehensive support to students
• Organize and facilitate workshops and information sessions related to academic success and resources
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and advising activities
• Stay up-to-date on current educational trends and changes in academic policies and procedures
• Participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives and committees as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or related field
• Strong knowledge of academic policies and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with a diverse student population
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Demonstrated commitment to student success and academic excellence
