Job Title: Train Conductor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Train Conductor to join our team. As a Train Conductor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trains, ensuring the timely arrival and departure of passengers and freight. You will also be responsible for managing the train crew, communicating with dispatchers and other train personnel, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the railroad industry and possess excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and manage the movement of trains, including coupling and uncoupling cars, controlling train speed, and managing train switches and signals.
• Ensure the timely arrival and departure of passengers and freight, adhering to schedules and maintaining accurate records of train movements.
• Communicate with dispatchers and other train personnel to coordinate train movements and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Supervise and manage the train crew, including assigning duties, providing training, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Inspect train equipment and report any defects or malfunctions, ensuring the safety and integrity of the train.
• Monitor and report on train performance and delays, making adjustments as needed to maintain schedules and minimize disruptions.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, addressing any concerns or inquiries and ensuring a pleasant and comfortable travel experience.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of trains.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in railroad operations is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the railroad industry, preferably as a conductor or other train crew member.
• Knowledge of railroad operations, safety regulations, and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, with the flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
