Job Title: Academic Advisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. The Academic Advisor will be responsible for providing academic guidance and support to students, helping them achieve their academic goals and ensuring their success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping students succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students, including course selection, degree planning, and career guidance.
• Assist students in setting and achieving academic goals, monitoring their progress and providing support as needed.
• Conduct regular check-ins with students to ensure they are on track and offer resources and assistance when necessary.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of university policies, procedures, and academic programs to effectively advise students.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address academic challenges and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in curriculum, course offerings, and other academic requirements to provide accurate and timely information to students.
• Participate in new student orientation and other events to educate students and families about academic policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of student interactions, academic progress, and other relevant information.
• Utilize technology and online resources to effectively communicate with students and track their progress.
• Serve as a liaison between students and the university, advocating for student needs and addressing any concerns that may arise.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a similar role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of educational systems and policies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in using technology and online resources for academic advising.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
