Overview: Colossal Arts College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students in their academic pursuits. This is a dynamic role that requires a strong understanding of academic programs, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with students. Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for students in the College and provide academic advising services to a diverse student population.
• Assist students in developing academic plans that align with their personal and career goals.
• Provide guidance and support to students in course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies.
• Monitor students' academic progress and provide intervention and support when needed.
• Collaborate with faculty and other departments to ensure students have access to the resources and services they need to be successful.
• Conduct regular check-ins with students to discuss their academic progress and address any concerns or challenges.
• Assist with new student orientation and registration processes.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all academic programs, degree requirements, and policies.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in higher education to provide students with the most current and relevant information.
• Participate in student retention and success initiatives to promote student engagement and improve retention rates.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and reports.
• Collaborate with other academic advisors and staff to continuously improve the academic advising process and provide the best possible support to students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in higher education, counseling, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
• Strong understanding of higher education policies, processes, and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
• Passion for education and helping students achieve their academic goals.
