Job Title: Data Modeler

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Modeler to join our dynamic team. As a Data Modeler, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing data models that will drive our organization's data management and analytics initiatives. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing conceptual, logical, and physical data models that will enable effective data integration, storage, and retrieval.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data models
• Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various data sources
• Create and maintain data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and other documentation related to data modeling
• Ensure data models are aligned with industry standards and best practices
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and redundancies within the data models
• Maintain data integrity and accuracy through data governance and quality assurance processes
• Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data patterns and relationships
• Collaborate with database administrators and developers to implement data models in databases and data warehouses
• Develop and maintain data mapping and transformation rules for data integration processes
• Continuously monitor and optimize performance of data models to support efficient data retrieval and analysis
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data modeling techniques and tools
• Train and mentor junior data modelers and provide guidance on data modeling best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Modeler or in a similar role
• Strong proficiency in data modeling concepts and techniques (e.g. ER/Studio, ERWin, UML)
• Extensive experience in developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• In-depth knowledge of data warehouse and database design principles
• Familiarity with data integration, ETL, and data governance processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and database query optimization
• Experience with data modeling in cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure) is a plus
• Certifications in data modeling or database management (e.g. CDMP, MCDBA) are preferred
