Job Title: Forestry Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Forestry Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry management, with a passion for sustainable practices and a deep understanding of the forestry industry. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our forestry operations, including planning, budgeting, and managing a team of forestry professionals. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations and promoting conservation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for sustainable forestry management, in line with company goals and objectives.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess forest health, identify potential risks, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Manage and supervise a team of forestry professionals, including foresters, technicians, and contractors.
• Create and manage budgets for forestry operations, ensuring cost-effective practices and maximizing profitability.
• Collaborate with government agencies, landowners, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and promote sustainable forestry practices.
• Utilize technology and data to monitor and analyze forest conditions, track inventory, and make informed decisions for resource management.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials and services.
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve forestry operations.
• Promote conservation efforts and participate in community outreach programs to educate the public on sustainable forestry practices.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in forestry management, with a proven track record of successful operations.
• Strong knowledge of forestry practices, regulations, and environmental laws.
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using technology for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different sites as needed.
