Position: Produce Department Manager

Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic individual to join our team as a Produce Department Manager. As the manager of our produce department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our produce section, while upholding the highest standards of quality and customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the produce department, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and merchandising of produce products
• Ensure that all produce products are properly stored, rotated, and maintained at optimal freshness and quality
• Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and profitability within the produce department
• Train and supervise a team of produce associates, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional customer service and productivity
• Monitor and control inventory levels, minimizing waste and spoilage, while maximizing sales and profits
• Collaborate with other department managers to create cross-selling opportunities and drive overall store sales
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing produce department, adhering to all company and health department policies and guidelines
• Continuously monitor market trends and customer preferences, adjusting product offerings and displays to meet changing demands
• Establish and maintain relationships with local growers and suppliers, negotiating prices and quantities to ensure the availability of high-quality produce products
• Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation standards, promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all team members
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve any issues and provide exceptional customer service at all times

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a produce department or similar role
• Strong knowledge of produce products, including varieties, quality standards, and seasonal availability
• Proven track record of managing and developing a team
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
